Awards Night 2013 Vale of Aylesbury Athletic Club welcomes new members aged 8yrs and older. If you are thinking of joining us please come along on a Tuesday or Thursday just before 7pm to sign up for 3 free trial sessions.   However, please note both Kestrel groups on Tuesday and Thursday are full. Please contact Pat Card, Membership Secretary (on the contacts page) for further information regarding timing on when spaces might be available.

If your mind is already made up and you are ready to join then that is brilliant, just contact Pat and she will explain the forms that will need completing.

Ages

Junior - Those aged between 8 and 20 (Kestrel groups have separate membership form)

Senior - Those aged 21 years and over.

Family - Junior and/or Senior individuals belonging to one household.

Concessionary - (i) Junior and Senior individuals who are living away in connection with full time education but who wish to compete for the club and resume full membership on completion of their studies. (ii) Unemployed individuals. (iii) Retired individuals over 60.

Associate - Senior individual members who do not qualify as Concessionary members and who do not wish to use the club's training facilities or to train with the club.

Second Claim MembersJunior and Senior Individuals who are first claim members of other clubs but who use the Club’s facilities, there will be a difference in membership for local Second Claim Members and non-local. Local is deemed if they are first-claim to another Athletic Cub located within Bucks/Oxon/Herts.

Primary Features

  • Join a training squad to suit your ability and preferred athletic event(s) and gain from free use of our qualified coaches and leaders.VOAAC is fortunate to benefit from a number of UKA qualified coaches and leaders who cover various athletic events including endurance running, sprints, hurdles, jumps, throws and multi-events.
  • Free access to general club training on a Tuesday and Thurday evening from 7:00pm-8:00pm. Selected squads also train on a Saturday/Sunday morning from 10:00am-12:00am.
  • Free entry to competitive athletic leagues. During the Summer season the Club competes in 3 Track & Field Leagues (1 senior and 2 junior) and during the Winter season the Club competes in the Chiltern Cross Country League.
  • Free circuit training and conditioning during the winter. Normally on a Monday evening in the club hut, suitable for both track and road athletes.

Social Features

  • Social events are often organised within training groups to boost the community spirit of the Club.

  • Up to 20% off at Sweatshop UK. One of the many perks of being affiliated to England Athletics is discount at this nationwide chain. Again, a wide range of running clothing, footwear and accessories with technology to assess the correct footwear.  Please take your Club membership card with you.
  • Discounts on Athletics Weekly magazine, the nation's favourite athletics magazine. Great for keeping up with all the latest athletic national news, photographs, events and comment.

England Athletics Extras

  • All our members are registered with England Athletics and will receive a personal competition licence. We are affliated with England Athletics and this is part of the standard procedure of registering a new athlete.
  • Reduced entry fees for UKA licensed road and multi-terrain events. Great to help endurance athletes save money on races they enter outside of the Club's leagues.
  • Personal profile page on Power of 10. The 'Power of 10' is a rankings website specifically monitoring athletic performances in the UK across all age groups. It is an extremely useful tool for monitoring personal progress and also for tracking the progress of rivals!
