SUMMARY:2025 Marathon Challenge
DESCRIPTION:In large teams\, athletes will tackle 200m running legs in relay format\, attempting to beat an array of different marathon records\, from our own club records by Anuradha Cooray and Sophie Delderfield to the overall world record by Kelvin Kiptum. \nSenior and Junior athletes will both have their own teams\, battling it out for the top spot (Juniors have won the past few years\, so seniors get those running shoes on). The amount you run on the day depends on the size of your team. Last year we had one large team of juniors\, the aim this year is to double that! \nThe event will be raising money for Calibre Audio\, a local charity who provide a fantastic collection of over 20\,000 audiobooks for people living with a print disability in the UK and overseas. Calibre Audio receives no government funding and relies on the generosity of the public to fund their running costs. \nThe marathon challenge will also be a fantastic opportunity to find out what’s coming up in the club’s schedule\, ordering kit (our training kit supplier Chiltern Sports will be in attendance for anyone wanting to purchase club t-shirts and sweatshirts etc) and a range of opportunities for parents\, plus more.
