Watford Open Meets:

Since the start of the track season we had had multiple athletes compete in multiple Watford opens. One athlete has competed more than others though. Lucy Workman has run the 100m on both the 1st of May and 29th of May and the 200m on the 12th of June coming away with PB’s after every race. Joseph Storey competed in the 3000m on the 29th of May and ran a time of 10:27.82 for a PB. On the 12th of June we also had Alessia Dolan and Zoe Prescott run 800m PB’s with 2:43.30 and 2:39.68 respectively. Zachary Honour also competed in the 3000m and ran a PB in a time of 10:16.65. We had 3 athletes out on the 26th of June with Joshua Ineson getting a PB in the 1500m (5:11.34) and Zac Williams also running a PB in the 1500m (5:02.45). Lucy Workman also competed in the 100m with a time of 13.87secs. On the 10th of July we had 6 athletes out with 3 PB’s from Archie Lynch (800m – 2:03.28), Luca Dolan  (800m – 2:21.18) and Zac Williams (800m – 2:28.89). The other athletes were Alessia Dolan (800m – 2:41.11), Gabriella Cheung (2:22.65) and Zoe Prescott (800m – 2:40.63). In the latest Watford open on the 24th July we had 5 athletes out competing with 3 PB’s. These athletes were George Lloyd (1500m – 5:52.09), Joshua Ineson (1500m – 5:04.02 – PB), Max Nicole (3000m – 8:46.50 – PB), Zachary Honour (3000m – 10:15.52 – PB) and Zoe Prescott (800m – 2:40.63). 

Pednor 5:

On the 6th of May we had the first race of the summer Grand Prix challenge. We had a brilliant turn out and had some great results. Well done to Archie Lynch (27th), Seth Kaye (28th), Amanda Esslemont (112th) and Iona Esslemont (178th). A special mention to Alice Rolfe for finishing 35th and also being 1st women back as well and Lucy Cuthbert for being the first junior female back. 

Coombe Hill run: 

The second round of the clubs summer Grand Prix took place on the 2nd of June and we had another brilliant turnout. Seth Kaye was first vale back coming 12th overall and being the first U16 male home. He was followed by William Ralston in 14th, Alice Rolfe in 37th (and first female), Rhys Williams in 57th, Ben Riley in 74th, Lucy Cuthbert in 104th (and first U18 female), Alan Roberts in 107th and Sue Barnes in 145th. A massive well done to our women’s team made up of Alice, Lucy and Sue who managed to take the first women’s team home as well. 

Misbourne Trial Run:

We had 2 athletes out at the Misbourne Trail run on the 22nd of June. Well done to Seth Kaye for winning the 5k event in a time of 19.28 on a difficult course. Lucy Cuthbert came 14th overall and was first U18 Female back in a time of 25:41.

Thame 10K

On the 30th of June we had athletes compete in the Thame 10k. Well done to Thomas Fell who came 3rd in a time of 32:22, Joseph Storey who ran 40:07, Alan Roberts who ran 46:09 and Lucy Cuthbert who ran 48:07. In the hot conditions all of our athletes ran well and both Thomas and Lucy ran PB’s over the distance. 

SEAA U20/Senior Championships:

On the 8&9th of June, we had 4 athletes out competing for the club at the SEAA U20/Senior Championships. Olivia London competed in the U20 women’s 400m hurdles and clattering a hurdle and taking a fall still managed to get up and finish her race in a time of 78 seconds. We had 2 athletes competing in the 400m. George Whincup ran in the men’s U20 and narrowly missed out on a place in the finals with a time of 50.56. Alastair Walls competed in the senior men’s 400m and ran a time of 51.91. Lucy Cuthbert ran in the U20 Women’s 3000m steeplechase coming 3rd with a time of 14:06 which is a PB and a club record.

  • 800m U15W – Eleni Brown 2:49.7, Annabelle Harrison 2:50.2, Gabriella Cheung 2:21.0 (1st)
  • 800m U13W – Matilda Walters 2:54.4
  • 1500m U15M – James Clifford – 5:09.4, Joshua Ineson – 5:16.2
  • Long Jump U15M – 4.47m (4th)
  • Long Jump – U15W – Emma Storey – 3.80m
  • Triple Jump U17M – Raphie London – 9.47m
  • Javelin U15W – Isabella Lamborn – 22.84m (1st)

English Schools:

A special to mention to Olivia London for Qualifying for English Schools in the 400m hurdles. She ran her second quickest time of 70.16secs and finished 7th in her heat. 

Well done to all of our athletes who have competed over the last 3 months and we hope that our athletes continue to go out and compete over the last couple of track races.
