A number of quite high class athletes are or have been members including twice times Olympic Pentathlon RAF athlete the late Don Cobley and ex British international Ron Gomez. As a youth Keith Miller came 5th in the English National Cross Country Championships at Parliament Hill Fields and Ester Evans represented Wales over 800 metres on the track.

The last twenty years has seen the club very prominent in athletics at local, national and international level.

1988:

Jean Cillard  was 3rd over 40 lady in the London Marathon in 1988 in 3.00.30

2011:

Will Gurton represented GB in the IAAF World Youth Games held in Lille, France

2012:

Patrick Taylor represented England at 800m at SIAB winning a silver medal after taking silver at the English Schools Championships 

2013:

Christian von Eitzen represented England at 800m and 1500m at SIAB winning Gold and Silver respectively. He had won Gold at the English Schools Championships at 800m

2014:

Anuradha Cooray finished 6th in the marthon at The Asian Games in South Korea. His time of 2:15:51 is a PB and Club Record

1980:

In 1980, club athlete Gordon Rimmer represented Great Britain at the 8 Nations Games in Tokyo

2010:

More recently Club Athletes have represented their countries at world class international events. Ben Gregory represented Wales at the 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi, finishing 6th in the men’s decathlon.

2012:

Anuradha Cooray represented Sri Lanka at the 2012 Olympic Games in London, finishing 55th in the men’s marathon

2013:

Kieran Lindars won a Bronze Medal in Holland competing for Great Britain in Triathlon’s European Relays at Youth level. He was also part of the GB squad as an individual in Turkey

2014:

Ben Gregory finished 6th in the mens Decathlon at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. His score of 7725 points is a PB and Club Record

Kieran Lindars has stepped up an age group in Triathlon and competed in both Holland and Geneva during this year for Great Britain
