Celebration of Success Awards….

Every VoAAC athlete should give themselves a BIG pat on the back. Hard work and a good attitude will serve all athletes well.

You have all had an amazing year and there have been some wonderful outcomes from you. From your commitment to attending the meets – to your attitude at training and the effort you always give, you are a credit to the club.

So if you didn’t win an award, don’t worry – keep working hard and the awards will follow.

Here are this year’s winners…

U11 Female = Lucy Workman

“Lucy has competed many times for the club at Watford, Oxford and Milton Keynes and is a pleasure to coach”

U11 Male = Raphie London

” Raphie competed lots from 75m through to the Chiltern League 2k cross country”

U13 Female = Olivia London

“Olivia has attended many events this year,

She has really pushed herself, her effort, determination and “can do” attitude have impressed everyone. Olivia is also willing to try anything that is asked of her and in the words of her coaches “it has been an honour to coach and watch her grow”.”

U15 Male = Adam Ankers

“Adam has been with VoAAC for a year and has stood out with his determination, effort and attitude. He has taken part in the inner counties and Bucks schools, competed for the 1st time in the sprints and relay, getting good times in the 100m and 200m. He is going from strength to strength and we look forward to what he will do over the winter season.”

U15 Female = Hortense Seed

“Hortense has shown outstanding commitment to the club in both her regular turnouts in;

She never misses training, this combined with her natural competitive nature is the winning combination”

U15 Male = Quinlan Bartlett

“In his final year as an U15 he never fails to impress and is always looking at how he can better himself. He always steps in at the last moment when someone else has been able to attend. He is an integral part of the U15s YDL team and took part of the U15 YDL team and took part in the inter-county championship.” He has improved greatly;

U17 Female = Carmen Williams

U17 Male = Nathan Jones

U20 Female = Nemiah Munir

U20 Male = Alex Byrom

Adult Female = Sophie Delderfield

Adult Male = Tim Jones

Athlete of the Year = Emilia Rock

“Committed to competing and No. 1 in the county in 300m English Schools. Club record indoor and out”

President’s Award = Vicky Sheldon

“This person has regularly turned out for the club in the Southern Athletics League, Road races, relays and Cross Country over many years, with what has been a dwindling group of senior female athletes. She has also been the club’s Treasurer taking over from Ian Thompson. This position within the club’s structure is no longer the domain of the amateur with a head for figures but requires a more complex accountants background to cope with the demands of today’s club activities. In all of this, she has been a valued member of the club and committee. We will be sorry to lose her and wish her well for the future”

ALSO with huge thanks to Kelly Byfield who has been coaching for many years and has now stepped down from leading the Tuesday’s Kestrels coaching team.

Massive thanks to Clare Barker who puts in the most ENORMOUS amount of effort into making the Club function and who has a very difficult job doing much of the administration. We are extremely lucky to have her as a volunteer.

FINALLY,

We have had new parent helpers over the year and a big thank you to everyone that helps out.

WE STILL NEED VOLUNTEERS  – if you think you have some time to spare, please email – voaacgeneralsec@btinternet.com
