Last weekend we kicked off the cross country season at the first of 5 Chiltern League matches, held at Keysoe Equestrian centre in Bedfordshire. The course was relatively flat but with the added challenge of a water jump for all age groups to tackle.

The u11 girls team: Shona Esslemont (31st), Poppy Alder (37th), Imaan Al-din (47th), Isla Bridges (49th) and Daisy Oxlade (50th) helped the team come back in 12th place overall.

The u11 boys team: Dexter Kann (17th), Devon Powell (38th), Zane Hmaidi (42nd) and Raphael Dube (48th) helped the team to 8th place overall.

Although the u13 girls team didn’t have enough athletes to make a full team they are still placed in a brilliant 6th place, this was achieved by Gabriella Cheung (8th), Emma Storey (29th) and Hollie Roberts (35th).

The u13 boys were able to get well over the 4 athletes out to make a full team and were rewarded with a 6th place overall. This was achieved by Zachary Honour (8th), Luca Dolan (19th), Peter Cheung (30th), Tom Gaeta (37th), George Lloyd (41st), James Clifford (42nd), Ethan Alcock (44th), James Randell (46th), Theo Rickard (47th), Harrison Fairburn (48th), Jonny Peel (55th) and Arthur Morley (59th).

The u15 girls also had enough athletes out to make a full team and were rewarded with an 8th place finish overall, achieved by Sarah Cintalova (23rd), Alessia Dolan (52nd), Leia Logan (54th) and Bogdana Denzil (60th).

We also had a great turn out from the u15 boys to make a full team where they placed 7th overall led home by Emile Jansen VanRensburgh (18th) and followed in by Joseph Storey (26th), Digby Martin (39th), Mikolaj Rozacka (41st), Rufus Martin (43rd) and Riley Satchell (50th).

There was a smaller turn out for the u17/20 women’s race with a sole athlete Lucy Cuthbert (32nd). There was only 2 u17 men who were Archie Lynch (24th) and Stanley Horner (37th). Hopefully, we will have a bigger turnout for this age group at the next Chiltern League.

We had a stunning turn out from both the senior teams with our senior women’s team in 9th, the veteran women’s team in 4th, the senior men’s team 10th and the veteran men’s team in 16th. These results were backed up by some amazing performances.

The women’s team was made of Chloe Pollard (42nd), Rosanna Iannone (46th), Sarah Pearse (49th), Sharon Maisey (51st), Amanda Esslemont (63rd) and Anna Cuthbert (78th).

The men’s team was made of Kieran Lindars (20th), Scott Ramsell (57th), Euan Anderson (62nd),

Mark Baines (64th), Adam Johnson (117th), Andrew Rolt (131st), Robin Barrett (141st), Tim Jones (154th), Conor Richardson (173rd), Richard Day (181st), Alan Roberts (211th) and Trevor Lynch (219th).

Thank you so much to everyone who turned up to run and all of the parents who sacrificed their day to get the athletes where they needed to be on time. Overall it was a spectacular turnout for our club and hope to see even more people out at the next match in November.
