Typical cross country weather on Saturday at the final Chiltern League cross country matches. Wind and rain did not deter a superb turnout of athletes across all age groups. Outstanding individual and team results can be found at http://www.chilternccl.co.uk/results.htm . 63 athletes from Vale took part at Campbell Park, Milton Keynes in cold, windy, wet conditions. Parts of the course, the mud was thick, very boggy and the course is tough.
Vale ended the Chiltern League season on a high: Gold for U17 Male Team (Max Perry (6th), Ben Lindars (7th), Caion Blossom (13th), Jamie Pugh (15th) , Matthew Bird and Tom Woodage. Max also took home Silver in the individual U17 male category after 5 matches.
Our Mens Vet team took second place after 5 matches with 3214 points (Rob Taylor (51st), Andrew Rolt (76th), Stuart Burnham (79th) , Roger Seed (96th), Tim Jones, Henry Edwards-Evans, Alan Roberts and Neil Muir). Tim Jones took the individual Gold for V60 category with Andrew Rolt taking Bronze position overall in the V50 category and Rob finishing just off the podium in 4th place in the individual V40.
Nathan Jones has had a fantastic cross country season; taking the silver in the individual U15 Male category after five matches. In the individual V35 Female category Rosanna Iannone took the bronze award.
Both our U11 Male and Female teams both finished the season 3rd overall with some solid performances at the last match. In the Female team; competing at match five from a field of 60 runners; Emma Corby (9th) , Abigail Corby (16th), Molly Usherwood (18th), Lucy Cuthbert (24th), Olivia London, Iona Esslemont, Sofia Plumridge and Katie Clarke,
Making up the Male team at the last match and our first four Vale over the lines; Jude Hudson (19th), Joshua Preistley (32nd), Sam Hart (42nd), Luke Spittles (47th), Elliot Corke, Rhys Johnson, Thomas Ford, Oliver Spittles, Harry Owen, and Jake Branch.
