The championships took place in Lisbon (Portugal) between Sunday 21st July – Sunday 28th July. The club had Trevor Lynch representing Ireland and he came away with a gold in the 800m by clocking 2mins 40.72secs which was his fastest time since 2020 and a bronze in the 1500m (5mins 45.48secs.) Congratulations Trevor!
BRITISH TRANSPLANT GAMES (1st-4th August)
Trevor followed up his Lisbon exploits by completing the 800m (2mins 45.99secs) and 1500m (5mins 45.62secs) gold double at the British Transplant Games in Nottingham at the start of August!
Alan Roberts is a regular on the European and World Masters stage, representing Great Britain in various races across Europe. This March he participated in the European Masters Indoor Championships in Poland and, in May, the European Masters 10k (winning the over-35 team bronze) and Mountain Trail 33km (winning the over-60 team silver) in Portugal. In August, Alan participated in the World Masters Athletics Championships in Sweden, taking part in the 800m, 1500m, 5000m, 8K XC and the Half Marathon. Definitely not one to sit around on his holidays!
LOWER AGE YDL – MATCH 4 (ETON)
The fourth and final round of the lower age YDL season took place on 21st July at the Thames Valley Athletics Centre in Eton. Well done to all of the athletes who competed and a big thank you to Gill and Bex all of the officials who helped on the day and also throughout the season.
