Well, it is the news nobody wanted, but, realistically we all knew was coming. The track will close under the new Government lockdown period from Thursday 5th November, until early December and obviously, the Club will close with it.
Training this week will be as normal on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, with the club also having taken on extra hours on Wednesday to get as many groups through training as possible. If an extra slot is available on Wednesday, athletes will be contacted by their coaches offering them a training slot, which is likely to be earlier than normal. If you are due to train this week, we encourage you to make the most of the opportunity.
Once we leave lockdown, the government have indicated we will revert to the Tier System which should see us return to training as we are currently, as soon as the track re-opens. We will keep you updated on this during the lockdown period.
Finally, a huge thank you to all of our volunteers and coaches whose selfless work in a difficult time allowed us to return to training in the manner we have and your work to date ensures we are in as good a place as possible to resume training once this current lockdown is over.
If anybody has any questions, concerns etc, then please come and speak to one the Committee Members, one of whom will always be on the gate this week during training times.
Wishing you all well during the lockdown period and looking forward to seeing us back at the track soon.
