To All Members,
Phase one of ‘Return to Training’ has begun with the first track sessions pencilled in for Saturday 25th July 2020. The club has produced an athlete’s ‘Return to Training’ pack containing all of the information required to get you back to training.
The ‘Athlete’s Return to Training Pack’ is available to download using this link.
While we appreciate everyone is keen to get back training, initially only very small groups will be able to train at the track as we have to adhere to Government, National Governing Body and Stadium Management restrictions and yes, all are different.
We are going to slowly reintroduce training groups from u13’s through specialist groups, all the way up to seniors. This will be done in groups of 5 athletes per group (and coach) with initially only two groups being able to train on different parts of the track at any one time. Unfortunately, there will be no jumps or throws during this phase. So that is an initial total of just 10 athletes per session.
Coaches will allocate athletes a training slot and contact them when their turn arises. Priority will be given to those athletes who have represented the club in competition in the past 12 months and also by the level of competition at which they compete. Please note, Athletes cannot return to training until their membership renewal has been paid.
The Club’s priority remains the Health & Safety of its members. Personal protective equipment, as well as anti-virus sprays, will be available at the track, but all athletes are asked to ensure they bring their own personal (named) hand sanitisers when attending any training session.
Parents of athletes may stay and watch the session trackside as long as they adhere to all social distancing and Stadium Health & Safety regulations.
Finally, please DO NOT just turn up at the track expecting to train. You must await an email from your coach or the club, inviting you to join a training session and respond to the email either accepting the invite or declining it.
If you accept it, arrive only at your allotted time and please read your athlete Return To Training Pack before attending. Only athletes allocated a training session will be admitted, anyone just turning up hoping or expecting to train will be turned away.
Please DO NOT encourage friends who may be interested in attending training to accompany you, they will not be allowed entry.
While this a small step back towards club training, it is a step in the right direction. The committee would like to thank all members for their understanding and patience over the last few months and it would also like to express its thanks to the volunteer committee members who have worked so hard to get us ready to return to the track.
Kind Regards
VoAAC Committee
Please make sure both parents and athlete read the pack, as it contains important information regarding entry to the stadium, preparation for training and a 12-point guide that every athlete will need to understand.
