Milton Keynes was the venue for the South of England Road Relay Championships and 3km / 5km Championships (for the younger age groups) on Sunday.
The Vale had numerous athletes competing, including a senior women’s 6 stage team comprising of Sarah Pearse, Alice Rolfe, Vicky Sheldon, Charlotte Steptoe, Sophie Card and Chloe Pollard. They finished in a creditable 30th position overall. We also had a 12 stage team for the senior men. The team of Mark Fallaize, Anuradha Cooray, Stephen Parsons, Andrew Byerley, Gary Compton, Aaron Ward, Nathan Jones, Marcus Maxwell, Adam Johnson, John Appleby, Ben Riley and Henry Edwardes-Evans finished in 43rd place overall.
U13 Boys Silver Team Medal!
In the junior section, the club had 3 representatives in the U13 boys 3km, with Arthur (8th), Oscar (12th) and Harvey (13th) – the U13 boys took home the team silver medal, well done!
The U15 boys 5km had 4 athletes competing with James (15th), Zachary (25th), Peter (31st) and Tom (33rd.)
Ingrid was our only entry in the U15 girls 5km and she ran well to finish in 10th place.
