Anuradha Cooray has been working extremely hard at a Lornah Kiplagat High Altitude Training Center in Kenya. He has been running more than 120 miles per week training for The Asian Games which are taking place in South Korea at the moment, and working towards the Olympic qualifying time for the 2016 Olympics in Rio.
Anuradha declared the training very tough but has obviously found it rewarding. Not only is the training invaluable for his discipline, but to be running alongside the world’s top athletes is an incredible experience. Cooray is very grateful to his employers ‘Greggs the Bakers’ who have sponsored him and made the trip to Kenya possible.
Cooray is now in South Korea competing for Sri Lanka at the Asian Games; the marathon will take place later this week and then it is back to normal training in and around Aylesbury and work at the bakers.
