Andrew Rolt led Vale home in 22nd place in 17:46. He was disappointed with his performance but unable to explain his loss of form on the night. In contrast he was followed very closely home by a delighted Richard Bazeley in 25th with 17:55 which is a personal best by a huge 36 seconds. Phil Corbett was next in with 18:46 and 41st place. Phil was pleased with his race considering his lack of endurance training over the past few months. The final Vale man home was Alan Roberts continuing his period of high volume racing with 19:30 and 56th place.
The only vale lady was Julia Austin who was very happy with her performance in 69th place overall, 8th lady and 3rd V45 in 20:27.
Julia (83%) & Andrew (81.69%) picked up the 5 age graded bonus points with Alan (76.25%) and Richard (72.57%) collecting 3 and 1 bonus points respectively. Julia also collected a further 2 bonus points for her top 3 age category position.
Overall in the Grand Prix after 12 of 18 rounds Alan (187 points from his best of 8 races) leads from Richard (121/4) and Tim Jones (108/2). In the ladies Grand Prix Julia leads (159/4) with Charlotte Steptoe (117/5) in 2nd and 3rd is Sharon Maisey (79/4).
With 6 rounds remaining any club member can still theoretically win the top prizes of £50 and 12 months free club membership for 1st place, £30 for 2nd and £20 for 3rd.
The next event is the Thame 10k on Sunday 28th June. http://thamerunners.co.uk/cpm-thame-10k/
