The fourth of this year’s Chiltern League Cross Country events took place on Saturday at Campbell Park in Milton Keynes in blustery and boggy conditions on a hilly and challenging course.  Sadly a lack of officials meant that times could not be recorded.

In the Junior races, top individual performance of the day came from Max Perry in the U13 race who won his event on this tough course.  Max has now won every Chiltern League race this season!  Ben Lindars and Matthew Rizzo-Nandi were 2nd and 3rd Vale boys home.  Harri Kane had a good run in the U17s finishing in the top half of finishers with Will Ralston the other Vale boy in the race.  Well done to Jack Rawlins in the U15s; it was also good to see Matthew Bird competing again.  The U11 category results aren’t included in league positions, but well done to Tim, Sam, Quinlan and William for a good strong race for the boys.

Our strongest overall category on the day was the Men’s race where Rob Taylor continued his strong season to be first Vale man home in 40th place from over 200 competitors.  Martyn Summerfield, David Maisey and Tim Jones also put in strong performances and completed the Vets team which finished in 2nd place; they are also 2nd in the division at the moment.  Sean Wilson was first Senior home for us in 52nd place followed by Lewis Meredith in 66th spot.  Tim Kelly finished as 4th V60.

The Senior ladies team was depleted through illness and injury with Debbie Channer and Sharon Maisey our only runners.  Debbie finished 31st from over 80 competitors.  The U17 girls age group is an improving one for the Club and four girls all ran well on Saturday with Sarah Sheperd finishing 9th from 39 finishers, Alice Wright wasn’t  far behind in 16th followed by Eliza Taswell-Fryer in 20th.  Well done to Holly Brown our only girl in the U15 race and to Lucy Perkins finishing 20th from 63 in the U13s.  Anna Cuthbert ran well in the U11 race as did Aimee Taylor in her first event for the Club.
