Debbie Channer and Henrik Hartmann took part in the Frankfurt Marathon last weekend in what Debbie describes as near perfect conditions.
Debbie continued: “this was the eighth marathon for both of us and the course reported to be fast and flat. Henrik was going well and on target to smash his goal of under three and a half hours; unfortunately at mile 20 cramp struck. He battled it for the last six miles crossing the line in 3:37:16 and although hugely disappointed, he is determined to overcome this issue on his next one! This was my second marathon of the year following a four month lay-off with injury last year. I had a great race and was delighted to beat my previous pb by nearly six minutes in a time of 3:16:52.
Frankfurt marathon is definitely to be recommended with great support, fantastic organisation and the definite highlight being the indoor finish with red carpet, strobe lighting, music and confetti!”
