On Saturday 31st October four teams from the Vale took on the National Cross Country Relays in Mansfield at Berry Hill Park.
First up were our under 14 boys who were led out by Harvey, who had a storming run and was 9th fastest overall on the day. Harvey (6mins 54secs) was backed up by Jack (7mins 47secs) and Austin (8mins 24secs) on the 2nd and 3rd legs with the team finishing 39th overall.
Next came the U18 men who had a trio of consistent legs to finish 29th overall. James (9mins 29secs), Josh (9mins 50secs) and Ronen (9mins 30secs) all ran times within 21seconds of each other.
Our third team of the day were the U16 girls who comprised Penny (8mins 8secs), Freya (7mins 59secs) and Daisy (8mins 59secs.) The team finished in 53rd position.
Finally, it was the turn of our U16 boys. Luca got things underway and came home in a time of 6mins 16secs to set the 6th fastest time for the age group on the day. The final two legs were completed by Peter (6mins 58secs) and George (7mins 38secs) which saw the team finish a creditable 38th overall.
A big thank you to Pat Card for organising the teams.
