Seven Vale athletes travelled to Oxford to compete in a Quadkids competition and the coaches report that they all came away happy with a mixture of good final positions and new personal best performances.
In the U11 boys, Ethan Perry finished 23rd overall and won his 600m in 2:16 with a well-rehearsed celebration as he crossed the line. Cai Rouch was 26th overall and set big new PBs in the 600m and 75m.
Our girls were competing at U9 and U11. For the younger girls, Ffion Mabey performed extremely well and finished 4th out of 20 including a PB of 12.8 seconds in the 75m.
In the U11s, Vicky Yates was 7th overall which included 3rd place in the Long Jump with a jump of 3.08m. Iona Royce was 11th with solid performances throughout; she was 5th in the Long Jump and 6th in the 600m. Kate Abrams was 16th and put in a great performance in the 75m with a time of 12.2s. Finally Emilia Black set 3 new PBs in the 75m, 600m and Vortex.
