Watford Open ~ 4th September

On the 4th of September we had 9 athletes competing at the final Watford Open of the season. To start off the evening we had Lucy run in the 100m where she ran 14.22. We then moved onto the 800m races where we had 5 athletes competing. In heat 2 Alessia ran a PB of 2:40.28 and Lucy ran a SB of 2:45.59. In heat 7 Gabriella ran 2:23.54 and Luca ran 2:25.18. In the sub 2:14 heats we had Mark Fallaize run a SB of 2:06.05. As the sun set and the temperature dropped we had 3 athletes warming up for the 3000m heats. In the first heat Joseph ran a PB of 10:20.37 and Zachary ran 10:35.82. In the third and final heat of the night Thomas Fell managed to run a 10 second PB of 8:48.47. Well done to everyone who went out and ran at the last Watford Open meet. 

Oxford City Midweek Open race ~ 11th September

On the 11th of September we had 5 athletes competing in the final Oxford City Midweek Open of the season. Going in the 100m we had Harry run a PB with a time of 12.87. Next on the track we had Alan Roberts in the 300m, 400m and the 800m. He ran 54.41, 75.91 and 3:00.79 (SB) respectively. We had 3 other athletes in the 800m as well including Gabriella who ran 2:24.31, Zachary who ran a PB of 2:23.50 and Archie who ran 2:08.77. Well done to everyone who ran at the final Oxford Open. 

National XC ReRun ~ 14th September 

The 2023 National XC championships that were originally meant to be held in February finally went ahead on the 14th of September. Well done to all 4 of our athletes who went out and competed on a challenging course in weather not extremely suitable for cross country. Congratulations to Lucy (U17W) who finished 86th, Gabriella (U13G) who finished 93rd, George (U13B) who finished 191st and Alan Roberts (Senior Men) who finished 483rd. Hopefully we will have more athletes out at the 2024 national XC championships in February. 

SEAA Road Relays ~ 21st September

We had 5 teams out on the 21st competing in the SEAA road relays. In the U13 boys race the team came 19th with Luca, Peter, Joe. We had 2 U15 girls teams who came 46th and 57th respectively. Well done to the A team made up of Gabriella, Tilly and Sophie and the B team made up of Annabelle and Alessia. We also had 2 U15 boys teams as well who came 44th and 55th. Well done to Zachary, Digby, Joshua, James, Tom and James. Well done to the Vale athletes who braved the weather to compete. 

Shardeloes 10k ~ 22nd September

Shardeloes marked the last race in the summer Grand Prix but the weather felt like anything but summer. We had 10 athletes out and a men and women’s team for the final results. Both of our teams came 3rd and our athletes have some excellent results. Mark Fallaize was first vale home in 14th, closely followed by Rhys and Andrew Rolt in 16th and 17th. Stephen Parsons came 24th, Ben Riley came 29th and Richard Day finished 37th. The Women’s team were led home by Sarah Pearse in 49th (she was also first F40 home) followed by Amanda Esslemont in 59th, Lucy in 119th and Heather Fallaize in 129th. Well done to all of our athletes who braved the rain to compete bringing back some brilliant results. 

Vitality London 10000 m/mile

Over the 21st/22nd we also had 2 vale members competing in the Vitality Westminster mile and 10000m. Andrew Rolt ran in the mile event on Saturday the 21st and finished in 71st and came an amazing 9th in his age category. On the 22nd Seth competed in the Vitality Westminster 10000m. He came 202/15,102 and 4th U18. Well done to both Andrew and Seth for competing and running very well.
