The seniors were out on the roads at the South Bucks 10k as part of the Club’s Grand Prix. The conditions were described as ‘great but a bit chilly to start with on a lovely course’.
It was a very successful day for them with Tim Jones first Vale to cross the line in 6th place in 36:47; he was 1st V55 to finish. Charlotte Steptoe, following on from her great run at the Aldershot Road Relays, finished as 30th overall and 2nd lady in a season’s best time of 40:50 with Tim Kelly close behind in 41:01; he was 1st V60 to finish.
Julia Austin was delighted to finish 42nd (5th lady) in a time of 41:55 to claim the 1st V45 lady prize. Julia has been injured throughout the summer so a strong performance was a positive boost. Alan Roberts was also in form finishing in 53rd place in a time of 42:53.
