Vale’s Alan Roberts has been representing Great Britain at the World Indoor Masters, Alan was happy with his performances finishing 33rd in Tuesday’s 8k cross country in a time of 33:08; followed by a 5th place in the 800m quarter finals that evening. The final of the 3k walk next day brought him a time just 1 second short of his V40 PB (18:32:36) and 14th place. No let-up in events as there was a 3k final on the Thursday where he finished 16th and Saturday’s 1500m semi-final time of 5:22:59 was just 0.07 outside his V40 PB. Sunday’s final event was the half marathon where Alan finished 35th in 89:28. Ex British internationals James Thie (over 35) and Anthony Whiteman (over 40) were both on form achieving an 800m/1500m/3000m treble!
